Hi *!

I've just bought an MSI RG54SE II and was looking for some information in the net for it when I came across your post.

For me the first part (index 0x0..0x97ff) looks like an binary loaded to extract (and install?) the appended BZ file.

The second part seems to be a BZ packed image file containing the linux kernel (2.4.18-MIPS-01.00) and an compressed BZ packed RAM disk.

Some interesting strings:
/Project/Realtek/RTL8186/v1.2.7.msi/rtl8186-
sdk-1.2a/rtl8186-linux-1.2a/linux-2.4.18/include/linux/skbuff.h
GCC: (GNU) 3.3.3
busybox
iptables

From what I can tell by staring to the images busybox has no telnet(d) support compiled in nor a dropbear SSH(d) is available. But there seems to be plenty enough space; half of the RAM disk is empty (0x0).

Sadly I don't have the time nor the experience (that meens the time ;-) to make the needed adjustments to plug in a telnet and or SSH and make this box "manageable".
But maybe this information is helpful though I *did not find* any hint of using GPL software in that box.
And there are *plenty* of it in that box.

Happy suing ;)

Sincerely,
Marcus
