Hi all !
I wanted to buy some wireless network storage and it found something
interesting in firmware of
Wireless storage DSM-G600 from D-Link (Wireless G Network Storage
Enclosure) looks like uses linux and also samba server
D-link officialy sells this device with only Windows support in two
versions (both have different firmware)
but in booth is visible that linux kernel 2.4 was used as an OS in those
devices.
Version A is easy to extract (tar xvf ) and contains those files:
ip-ramdisk
rootfs.gz
usr.cramfs
version.msg
in rootfs.gz is gzipped ext2 root filesystem and in usr.cramfs is /usr
ROM filesystem
this version uses atheros wifi driver and many thinks here, samba,
busybox, sysutils
Version B is in some other format but its also evident thats linux
distribition
Is this normal, selling device with GNU linux and does not provide
sources ?
Please take a closer look on this, cause by my opinion this is so called
GNU licence violation ......
