The problem is that once an error slips into an SDK it will stay around 
for many years. Chipset vendors like Realtek supply to the companies 
that make the devices. Getting these companies to update to later 
versions is very difficult. Once there is a working solution/product, 
they'll just grab that one everytime a customer asks for it, often 
without applying updates to fix mistakes (either licensing or security). 
Applying fixes costs money and margins are really tight in this market, 
so there is no incentive for these companies to apply these fixes, which 
is sad.
