..say countr_ies_, rather than countr_y_, you're not likely 
to find a violation case involving just one country, not 
even if it's the US.

..then there's the potentially infringing side, "modern 
globalization" means people buying e.g. a shipload of washing 
machines with e.g. Busybox 'n GNU/Hurd from China for the EU 
markets, will have to comply with the copyright laws of _all_ 
the countries "in question", because they are "distributed 'n 
conveyed" etc "from there to there." ;o)

..which is just one more reason GPL etc compliance is so much 
more easier 'n cheaper than jurisdiction forum shopping. ;o)
