CT-PC89E kernel: signs of "secure" functions

i've been reverse-engineering the Chitech CT-PC89E kernel, and have
found evidence of "Secret Key" reading functions, which take data from
an on-board EEPROM. exactly what the hell these are doing in there i
really do not know.

however, if this is common-place for linux kernel code that is coming
out of china, it may explain why there is reluctance on the part of
various manufacturers to comply with the GPL.

it would be good if someone could run the MIPS kernel for that
g-netbook device through IDApro. get a copy of /proc/ksymall, and
i'll provide a .idc script i hacked together which understands ksymall
files and adds in function names at the correct offsets. but, the
first thing is to look at the ksymall file and search for functions
with the word "Secret" in them.
