DirecTV units

  Out of curiosity, has anyone done any research on DirecTV and their
use of Linux on their HD DVR units?  I recently noticed that it was
running it when playing with the media player it provides, which using
upnp broadcasts it's presence on the network, and clearly identifies
itself as being Linux itself.

  Bear in mind, I'm not merely talking about the kernel.  I'm talking
about actual applications which are running on the DVR providing a
user interface to upnp applications on the network.

  The Linux side is simply another instance that looks fishy.
