various ways of using CMS

Hello,
It is clear to me when content of web site is concerned. But, whole
functionality of site is due to functionality of CMS. Thus, use of menus,
mailing, log in, use of modules (i.e. random photo...) and other functions
are use of code of CMS itself.
Thus, avoiding to mention that and under which license is published is from
my point of view dubious.
Anyway, thanks for help.
