Hi,

I recently(ish) purchased an ADSL router made by Dynamode: the
R-ADSL-C4W-EG.

http://www.nirox.co.il/dynamode/www/details.asp?id=239

This device is running Montavista Linux, and busybox, amongst
other things - here's what happens when you log in to it using
ssh:

==========
DSL Modem CLI
Copyright (c) 2004 Texas Instruments, Inc.
cli> shell

Starting /bin/sh
Type exit to return to the CLI

BusyBox v0.61.pre (2006.03.04-04:39+0000) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

# cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.4.17_mvl21-malta-mips_fp_le (root at rhl) (gcc
version 2.95.3 20010315 (release/MontaVista)) #5  3 4
13:37:03 CST 2006
==========

I suspect that the Linux kernel and busybox are not the only GPL
software on the device.

I have tried to obtain the source code for this software stack
several times, I have been unable to do so - either by
searching Dynamode's website, or by contacting
their support people here in the UK (more than once) or
international (no reply at all). The CD media which came with
the device contained only some minimal documentation.

Therefore, it seems to me that they're in violation of their
obligation to provide source code for the GPL components. What
should be my next step?

If you need more information about the software on the device as
bought, let me know ... otherwise they're cheap to buy if
somebody else wants to buy one and have a poke around (£37 here
in the UK). It's a pretty good router so far, especially for
the money, but has a couple of bugs which I want to fix
(reverse DNS and something else I don't recall...), hence the
need for buildable source code!
