QNAP violation of the gpl

Hi,

I have just seen this device on the web and I have a few questions to 
make sure that it meets all my needs.
As this is a linux based device I assume that the source code comes with 
it, or is available, enabling me to program and upgrade the software 
components on it. could you confirm that this is the case.

Can I ssh into the TS-101 from my Linux desktop PC and run compilers etc.

Is it possible to run Java applications.
