Hello,
I tried finding something about edimax in my archive, but I couldn't
find anything on this product yes, my apologies if this has been
mentioned before.
I've recently gotten my hands on an old EW-7205apl wireless accesspoint
from edimax, a 'decent' device, but too simple. Result, I started to
play with it, look at the chips, google a bit, pull some strings out of
the firmware... and.. voila, I found this:
Uncompressing Linux...
done, booting the kernel.
looks to me it runs linux (which I somehwat suspected).
now after some more googling I noticed edimax does have some sources and
tools on their site, just only of one of their routers (which happens to
be based on the same chip).
now, my question to the list is:
Is this known?
asuming the sources of the router work on this device, is it enough for
them to provide the sources on the name of a different product? (I'd
asume no)
If it's not known, and not accoording to the GPL, what can I do, or can
be done?
Greetings,
Sebastian
