Thank your for your reply - actually this one came quite quickly: Just
one day after contacting your companies marketing unit. I was quite
surprised to see such a positive answer that quickly.

The CD-ROM is some blue disc contains exactly two files:
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 74934910 16. Mar 09:49 InstantON.exe
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 994683 22. Mar 14:07 User Manual.pdf
No information regarding the GPL, no information whom to contact for
getting the source code.
Getting access on the entire kernel source code soon would allow me to
research quickly if you found some solution for that minor ACPI problem
of the notebook - but I really do not feel like disturbing your daily
business too much. So if you say the full source code will be available
within two weeks I am fine.

Assumed something like that. The current driver talks about probing some
unknown variant of the ALC861 when loading, so it looks like the changes
have not found there way into the offical repository yet. Guess adopting
the changes between ALSA 1.0.9 and the now recent ALSA 1.0.11 would take
some time, so your partner at Realtek delayed that. I can understand
this, as I also do not like merging conflicting branches.
Guess sending the driver per mail should be more comfortable for you, so
it's ok, if you send it that way.

I have to thank you for responding quickly, once I've found a working
communication channel. I'll have a look at the audio driver as soon as
possible. Thank you for our offer to help. With some luck the driver
will work out of the box.
Ciao,
Mathias
