i bought an archos 604wifi and it seemed to me that it is running on
some embedded Linux
I researched a bit about that and found some information that this must
be true (like http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS7079516466.html)
to be 100% sure i send a e-mail to archos support and asked them about that
i got a reply like "yes, its based on Linux"
so i send another mail and told them if they use GPL code they have to
tell the user about that (no information about that in the manuals
delivered with the player, no infos inside online .pdf documentation and
no information on their website)
also asked if they plan to release the Sourcecode for this player like
they did with an earlier player (the PMA400)
the reply to that was like: "yet, there are no plans in doing so"
i would really like to have the sourcecode of this software and waiting
for them to release it maybe sometimes don't seem to be the right
way for me
i'm interested what you think about it and maybe you can tell me what
can be done next ?
As i'm not the license holder i think it would be the wrong way to write
another e-mail to them and try to force them to release the sourcecode
