ext2 would consistute a distribution method, so the 'mere aggregation' rule 
applies. glibc has a waiver in its license permitting linkage to closed 
source apps, ld-linux is the main Linux loader, which has a 'standard system 
calls' exception in its version of the GPL, and libpthread is LGPL, again 
permitting dynamic linkage to closed source apps.

Maybe I misunderstood, but where exactly is the alleged GPL violation?
